Hey Guys, It is that time again. Yup, Kyrax is coming down to Magic Mountain to help racers at the Furnace Creek 508 ride up through Death Valley and then down to 29 Palms this weekend (October 2-4). My guys are okay, but many racers need help. So if you've got some free time and would like to see some pretty country while driving slowly across the desert, check things out here: adventurecorpsblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/furnace-creek-508-looking-to-join.htmlSome race teams will pay for the help, but all will offer food, beverages and comraderie. And it is an adventure - you'll be out there with hundreds of other people, from over 20 US states, most Canadian provinces, and over a dozen other countries. for 508 miles, these racers will be going non-stop (or with as few stops as possible), all for the glory of proclaiming that they've finished. If you've got any questions, drop me a line at mallenorod@dagorhir.com, or after Thursday night, at 925-785-0766. See you out there! Kyrax

One last bump for this - c'mon folks. You know you wanna drive through most of the Mojave at slow speeds. So drop me a line or check out that blog - several teams desperately need crew members and have posted recently looking for help.
And for the really adventurous, many of these racers participate in RAAM, the Race Across America. The team I'm supporting, Mahi Mahi, becomes Team 4-Gone for next Summer's RAAM. For the Furnace Creek 508 they're raising funds for Operation Snowball, and for RAAM they're doing so for the Wounded Warrior Project.
